As a therapist I profoundly believe that change is possible, and that every individual has the potential for growth. My hope is for us to develop a therapeutic relationship that will be healing for you.

As a gender, sexuality and relationship diversity therapist I offer a warm, empathetic approach and together I hope we can create a space for you to be vulnerable and explore whatever you wish to bring. Counselling is an opportunity to work through pain, hurt, resentment and anger, or it can be a place to explore a new way of being.

In 2023 I completed a certificate in Psychosexual Therapy with Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology, and I am a qualified relationship counsellor, having completed a Certificate in Couples Counselling with Relationship Scotland that included a 100 hours of couples work. I incorporate psychodynamic, systemic and emotion focused theories to work with individuals, couples and other relationship configurations.

In 2024 I undertook a certificate in trauma therapy with the Link Centre where I learnt to work with trauma in a triphasic model. As a result I am trained in trauma processing methods such as Narrative Exposure Therapy and Imaginal Exposure, which can help reduce common symptoms of PTSD such as intrusive memories.

I draw on teachings of Judith Herman, Babette Rothschild, underpinned by the neuroscience of trauma. Initially in trauma therapy we would work on developing stabilisation, a process that can be lengthy, and when we have created that safe space we would use techniques to process the traumatic memories.

We can work at a pace you feel comfortable with, and put your wellbeing at the centre of our sessions. Within the space of a therapeutic relationship I believe there is the opportunity to reflect and bring awareness to our thoughts, feelings and actions, hopefully providing a deeper understanding of ourselves and creating change as a response
